Residual emotion,
Left over devotion,
Love once in motion,
Now lost in the ocean
Smooth sailing or so i thought
But in the hands of time the sail got caught
Found myself drifting, lost in a vast sea
Finding myself thinking, "This wasn't how it was supposed to be!"
Timing is everything,
But this timing was not,
Mine never was, never is, never will be
Not meant to fill this spot
Smooth sailing or so it seemed,
The sky was clear and the sun beamed
Casting down a glow so warm
Not the weather thought to be the pre-cursor to a storm
Life like a ship at sea, tossed by the waves
Over and over again, wave after wave
Endlessly at the mercy of the storm,
Alone at night facing the epic struggle to keep warm
If life is like a ship at sea,
Mine is piloted by captain destiny
Never will he dock where I'm not meant to be
Despite my resultant misery
A single lonely ship adrift
I convince myself that lone waters and quiet seas are in fact a heavenly gift...
I sail along...
I sail alone...
I sail on...
