At a University in the South Caribbean
Way way back when
Considered the worst university on the west side of the prime meridian
Way way back since then
Lived a young woman of grace,
A lady so fair
A woman who'd make your heart race
Just knowing she was near
She had a gift – she was most expressive
And a pleasure to listen to
She could bring topics to life with her expressions
If you didn't understand you would definitely want to!
She was a student there, at that horrid school
Surrounded by many who despised the rule
And using her gift she brought great cheer
To the downtrodden souls that tarried near
She journeyed with them
Through the tempestuous trials called school
She was a pleasure to look at
And definitely no fool!
Through the hot days and the lack of water despite the incessant rain
She used her cheer-spreading gift to quell many pain
Room mates who spilled causing many a stain
Did not stop her sanity to remain
Insane teachers, Deans, and dormitory rules...?
Assignments and Labs with group members who were fools...?
None were a match for this young woman so fair
She cleared every obstacle and still shared good cheer
Crazy financial administrators who lost paper work...?
Admissions officers who make the application process a joke...?
An International student services department who claimed to do their best...?
For this fair beauty their daunting was no test
Her cheery disposition distracted all with whom she dealt
The full weight of their plight they no longer felt
And when she would smile the world greater warmth felt
Some story tellers say it was her smile that first caused the ice caps to melt
