Poetry Assignment?

I didn't pay attention in class it would be seem
And I have friends in class who to me are so mean
They neglected to remind me that an assignment was due
Ten poems! What shall I do?

Now, almost too late, my lesson I've learned
I must write and write while I struggle to discern
A good and valid poem from what in class I did learn
A good and valid poem for this grade I must earn
